Hello world

Hello everyone, this is TG Ellyson Court, President of the Japan America Transportation Historical Organization, or JATHO.

As a new initiative for JATHO, we have decided to start this blog.

Until now, our organization has shared information mainly through social media (X, Facebook, Instagram) and our official website, but each of those platforms has presented its own challenges. Social media makes it easy to post updates, but it tends to be image-centered and comes with character limits. Posting to a bilingual audience on social media has also been a challenge.

On the other hand, while our website is well suited for long-term information such as the organization’s future vision, it is not the best place for posting articles casually or for allowing multiple contributors to share content at their own pace.

With that in mind, we decided to launch this blog on a pilot program as something of a middle ground between those two platforms. Here, we hope to gradually share stories that do not fit easily on social media, as well as topics that may not belong on the main website but are still well worth introducing.

For now, this blog is starting with just me, the President, and one contributor from Japan. We are still feeling our way forward, but we plan to add articles little by little, so we hope you will follow along with us.

Also, if anyone is interested in contributing to this blog, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing more with you.
